A few days ago, I took my car and went for a drive around Kuitpo. It was a wonderful Sunday morning, the sun was shining, and the colourful early autumn trees were magically dressing the road.

My trip took me to K1 wines, an incredibly majestic wedding venue in Adelaide. The photographs don’t do justice to what this place looks and feels like. Picture a magnificent lake house surrounded by the most magical foliage and vineyards; it’s like having your own fairy tale location less than an hour away from the CBD. I found that one of the most striking things about this place is that there will always be times of the day when the property and surrounding grounds would look entirely different, and you will fall in love all over again.

Like if this was not enough already, this team is a family operated business. It was initially built as a holiday home for Geoff and Fiona Hardy to live after their retirement. Still, after being trading as a cellar door from 2004 and having a few family weddings, the word spread out, and Fiona rose to the occasion and started hosting the most incredible weddings.

I had a chat with Karen Halliwell, who is the responsible person for the lakes and events and got to see up close where all the magic happens. The grounds are absolutely stunning and carefully looked after. They can host weddings of around 120 people and work with Dine Catering, providing exceptional service and food that fills not only your tummy but your heart.
