Welcome to the story of Oxanna and Tan, they celebrated their wedding on Friday and Saturday last weekend in Adelaide.

How did everything start?

We met in the first year of high school 2008, when we shared the same home group and classes. 

We didn’t really pay any attention to one another as we were in different friendship groups. Tan was the cool kid, very naughty and always getting into trouble. Whereas I was very focused and a tad nerdy. I was very hesitant at first when Tan was always trying to get my attention, but eventually, we started chatting on MSN. We chatted for months before Tan finally asked me out. We don’t have much in common, and in fact, we are complete opposites, but that was the excitement of getting to know each other. We both taught each other a lot of things about our cultures, how we came to be where we are and where we wanted to go together. Since then, have been supporting, celebrating, eating and creating memories and milestones together.

How about the engagement?

Tan surprised me with a trip to Hamilton Island just before Christmas of 2021. We had a lovely few days, exploring and relaxing before he surprised me with a helicopter flight around the Whitsundays before landing on the ‘Heart Reef Pontoon’ in the Great Barrier Reef, where he popped the question on top of the helipad.

Eating dinner as one big happy crazy family.
