This is the story of Sammy and Hamish and their stunning rustic wedding at Marybank Farm in Adelaide.

How did everything start?

We met in the middle of the Australian outback at a Sammy’s family property, Mt Zeil Wilderness Park, 200km North West of Alice Springs. We met when Hamish, who is a water driller, came out to drill some water bores at the farm. We became close friends which eventually blossomed into a beautiful relationship and the rest, as they say, is history.

How about the engagement?

We got engaged in July 2021 at the most remote place in Western Australia, a place aptly called Honeymoon Bay located near the Kalumburu community. We were on Hamish’s long service leave and were traveling through the Kimberley with our camper trailer with Hamish’s 2 sons. Hamish proposed on  the beach as we watched the full moon rise over the iconic boab trees.

What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day?

Marybank is such a  beautiful venue we have let it’s natural beauty speak for itself. We have opted for a traditional and elegant style ceremony with a bit of rustic country flair thrown in.

What excites you the most about your wedding day?

We are so excited to celebrate with friends and family who have traveled from far and wide and just to have a whole lot of fun together!

Top Tips for future couples planning their wedding

Keep the end in mind – there are endless decisions to be made which can feel overwhelming; however, at the end of the day it’s all about marrying your special person and the commitment you are making to each other. Sometimes that can get lost in the craziness that is wedding planning!
